Shaker Blanket Chest
A very early and classical Shaker bracket base blanket chest. Having a hinged lift lid with breadboard ends above a finely dovetailed box fitted with a stepped double till, all standing on an applied, finely dovetailed bracket base. Pine retaining an old or original deep red painted surface.
Carrying handles are later 19th Century Shaker additions. Probably Watervliet, New York. Circa 1820.
