Having a dovetailed case with a hinged lid.  The case is fitted with two molded (on all four sides), lipped drawers with turned wooden pulls.
The interior compartment has a removable lid that is signed; "Made 1850, By my Brother at Canterbury Shakers, John Matthews, Mrs a m gordon"
Birch and pine retaining an old/original stain and varnish surface.
