Classic Shaker "Revolver"
|
|
A fine example, classical in form with an oak rail, eight tapered birch spindles and pine seat above a turned maple standard and cross-lapped arched steam bent maple legs. The base and seat are joined by a threaded iron rod allowing for the rotation and height adjustment of the seat. The finish is a stain and varnish that appears to be original. Mount Lebanon, New York. Circa 1860. |
