An unusual find. These two chairs were obviously made in New Lebanon at the same time and arguably by the same maker. Both were originally made with cane seat rails and to the same dimensions. Maple in an old stain and varnish finish.
Just acquired from a collection where they have been for the last thirty years.
New Lebanon, New York. Circa 1840.
H. . 40 3/4", seat height 16 3/4".
