An extremely rare and successful example.  Having a round top with a round edge above a classical standard attached to the top via a threaded joint to the cleat, standing on three distinctive cabriole legs.  Birch retaining an old varnish finish.  One of a handful of such stands made at the Shaker Community in Alfred Maine.  Circa 1840.
