| SOLD Shaker Ladder Back Rocking Side Chair |  | A rare example of grand proportions. Having an elongated back with four arched reverse graduated slats and terminating in candle flame finials. The rockers are abbreviated, though thick, with shaped ends and a beveled top edge. They are secured to the posts by means of hand wrought rivets. Maple and curly maple retaining an old or original stain and varnish surface. Attributed to the Shaker Community at Harvard, Massachusetts. Circa 1840. H. 47 3/4", seat h. 17". |
