SOLD Rare Shaker Dining Chair | | Recently Reacquired - An Excellent Example!
While I sold this chair some years ago, before then it saw service in our home as "the desk chair" so I can attest to it's comfort and sturdiness along with it's rarity, condition and and beauty.
A classic, low spindle back chair made by Brother Macijah Tucker at Canterbury, NH., in 1832. The full seat height and low back allowed the chairs to be pushed under the tables facilitating setting and clearing. Birch and pine retaining an original red painted surface. It is thought that only 60-90 of these innovative chairs were ever made. Seat h. 16 3/4”, overall h. 25 1/4”
