Shaker Carrier.
An example of Shaker adjustment to changing styles.  Originally painted a chrome yellow, this fine carrier was cleaned, varnished and fitted with a silk lining (c. 1880), as styles changed.  Signed on the bottom “Mary Fall”.  1810-1884. 
Maple with a pine bottom, all secured with copper rivets.
