Diminutive Glazed Door Cupboard

A fine small cupboard of cherry and poplar, retaining an old or original red painted surface. The top is one piece with the molding cut on front and sides. The case has been fitted with a paneled door, the panel of which has been shaped in a gothic style with two flanking pinwheel carvings with a reverse paint on glass panel secured from the interior. The sides terminate in a simple base with a cutout cupid's bow in front and ogee sides. Probably Pennsylvania. Circa 1840. H. 14 3/4" w. 12 1/4" d. 7 3/8" $5,500.
