A rare example, attributed to the Dunlap school of furniture, produced in southern New Hampshire, late 18th or early 19th century.  Maple and pine, retaining an old black painted surface.  Having a distinctive crest rail above an urn shaped splat with shaped arms terminating in rolled hand holds and molded front legs.  Seat replaced.
